March 18, 2011 Wiki Olympics Essay First, the Olympics is an organization that helps families, friends, and many people get together because it is one of the most watched events all year long. In the Olympics they compete in sports and players come to play for their countries’. The first Winter Olympics was held in Chamonix, France in 1924. The United States has held the most winter Olympics over the years. Japan is the only Asian country to host the winter Olympics. Most people enjoy the Olympics because they get together to cheer for their country. The players are picked specially because of their effort towards the game and their many years of practice and training. Most people enjoy watching the Olympic Games such as hockey, bobsledding, skiing, snowboarding, curling, and many other sports because these sports are played only in the winter. The next winter Olympics will be held in 2014 in Russia. Second, the Olympics started in 776 b.c..
